Food hub
We want to play our part in decreasing food poverty in our city. Our Food hub works to collect and distribute food to support our community as well as local food banks.
What we do
Food hub runs every other Wednesday morning in the St Nicholas building. Led by a team of volunteers, all food is prepared and packed for redistribution to local food banks. Recipe bags are also made up and sent across the city enabling individuals and families to develop skills by following a given recipe with fresh ingredients.
How to get involved
If you have a few hours available and are looking to serve our city in a practical way, why not volunteer to be part of the Food hub team on Wednesday mornings. This involves either being part of the food preparation team in the building or delivering the boxed up food to the food banks.
